మహాభారతాన్ని సెక్యులర్ పుస్తకమన్నా కురుక్షేత్ర యుద్ధాన్ని జెహాద్ అన్నా ఆవ్యాఖ్యలు వ్రాసిన వారి పరిమితదృష్టిని సూచిస్తాయి తప్ప ఆ గ్రంధాన్ని సరిగా అర్థంచేసుకోవడం కాదు. ఆధునిక దృష్టికోణం తో విశ్లేషణ అనేముసుగుతో అర్ధ జ్ఞానంతో (half-baked-knowledge) చేస్తున్న వాదనలు. మహాభారతం పూజా గ్రంథం కాదు. నిజమే. సిఖ్ఖుమతంలో వలె గ్రంథసాహెబ్ అనేపేరుతో షోడశోపచారాలు చేయమనే ఉద్దేశ్యం కాదు. ప్రతి ఆచారం వెనుక ఒక చారిత్రక నేపథ్యం ఉంటుంది. ముస్లిములతో ఉన్న - మహాభారతం - ధర్మ శాస్త్రం,నీతి శాస్త్రం,పురాణము,సంహితా-సమానం, లక్షణ గ్రంథం --- పురాణమంటేనే పంచ లక్షణాలు కలది - ప్రాచీన వంశాలు,, వంశాను చరితలు, ఆలక్షణాలలో అంతర్భాగాలు. జిహాద్ అన్నది ఉగ్రవాద సమస్య పేరుతో ఆధునిక కాలంలో ప్రచారం పొందినది. ఇది ఖురాను కల్పాన కాదు. ఇది క్రైస్తవ మతం నుండి వచ్చినదే - ఉదాహరణకు, Old Testament, Book of Deuteronomy లో అన్యదేవతలను పూజించేవారిని చంపమన్న వాక్యాలు ఉన్నాయి.
