గ్లీషులో సైన్స్, సంస్కృతములో శాస్త్రము అన్నపదాలు సమానార్థకాలు కావు. హొమియోపతీ, అస్ట్రోలజీ వంటివి శాస్త్రాలా సైన్సులా? అర్థ శాస్త్రము (ఎకనామిక్స్) రాజకీయ శాస్త్రము (పొలిటికల్ సైన్స్) మానేజ్ మెంట్ సైన్స్, సోషల్ సైన్సెస్, సైకాలజీ (మనస్తత్వ శాస్త్రము ) మళ్ళీ మాట్లాడితే గణిత శాస్త్రమును సైన్స్ అనవచ్చునా? హిస్టరీ ఆఫ్ సైన్స్ కూడా సైన్స్ అనిపించుకుంటుందా? లేకపోతే INSA, Indian National Science Academy హిస్టరీ ఆఫ్ సైన్స్ అనే జర్నల్ ఎందుకు ప్రచురిస్తుంది? ఇంజనీరింగ్ కూడా సైన్సేనా? సైన్స్ అన్నపదము సైంటియా అనే లాటిన్ మూలము నుండి వచ్చినది. అర్థము జ్ఞానము, జ్ఞాన సముపార్జన,.

శాస్త్రము అనే పదము శాసతి ఇతి త్రాయతి - అంటే శాసిస్తుంది, రక్షిస్తుంది. ధర్మ శాస్త్రము, నీతిశాస్త్రము, మొదలైనవికూడా శాస్త్రములు. దర్శనములు, వేదాంగములు శాస్త్రములు. వ్యకరణము శాస్త్రము. లాజిక్, న్యాయ శాస్త్రము ఒక శాస్త్రము. దేవుణ్ణీ, జాతకాలని, న్యూమరాలజీని, శకునములను శాస్త్రాలు అంటే అదివ్యక్తిగత నిర్ణయం.మనిషికి తనవైన విశ్వాసాలు ఉంటాయి. మూఢ నమ్మకాలు అనేమాట అర్థరహితం. జ్ఞానము సత్యమవాలని సూత్రమేమీ కూడా లేదు.తనకు తెలిసిన విషయాన్ని ప్రతిమనిషి సత్యమా సత్యదూరమా అని పరిక్షించుకోవాలి.

జ్ఞానానికి మానం, పరిమాణం, గుణం ఉన్నాయి

జ్ఞానం నాకు ఎవరి వలన కలిగినా స్వీకరిస్తాను. తప్పుట ఎందుకంటే  . వారి  పూర్వీకుల జ్ఞానం ఇతర్ల జ్ఞానం కంటే గొప్పదిట.  పెద్దలు కొందరు అంటున్నారు . .మరి నేను చదువుకున్న సైన్సు మర్చి పోనా ?వారి  పూర్వీకుల జ్ఞానం నా కు అందనప్పుడు  నేను ఏమి చెయ్యాలి ? అన్న వారు ఇతర్ల  జ్ఞానాలతో నిర్మించిన అంతర్జాలం లో ఆ మాట అంటున్నారేమిటి ? ఏమిటో !.
నా బుర్రకి ఇవి అర్ధం కావు.

జ్ఞానానికి మానం, పరిమాణం, గుణం ఉన్నాయి విజ్ఞానం జ్ఞానములో ఒక భాగం యదార్థ జ్ఞానానికి ఒక్క మూలపురుషుడు అంటూ ఉండరు. చదివిన సైన్సు పాఠాలు, సంప్రదాయంగా లభించిన సత్యాలు ఈనాడు మనకు అందుబాటులో ఉన్నంత వరకు పరిగణన లోనికి తీసుకోవలసినదే. జ్ఞానంలో ప్రాచ్యం, అప్రాచ్యం అనేది లేదు. మనకు తెలిసినంత వరకు అనే పరిమితి ఉన్నది  అంతే. అన్నీ వేదాలలోని ఉన్నాయిష అంటే చాలదు. ఏ సూక్తం,, మంత్రంలో ఏమని ఉన్నదో చెప్పగలగాలి. ప్రాచీన శాస్త్రాలకు ఆధునిక విజ్ఞానానికి సమన్వయంకోసం ప్రయత్నించాలి. Internet టెక్నాలజీ వెనకాల ఉన్న భాషా శాస్త్రంలో పాణినీయం అనే అంశం ఉన్నది. అది వాళ్ళు acknowledge చేయడంలేదు. మనవాళ్ళు పుస్తకాలకు గైడులు వ్రాయడంలో నిమగ్నమై ఉన్నారు.

Jayant Vishnu Narlikar, considered an eminent Astrophysicist of India associated with IUCAA, Pune and TIFR Mumbai, wrote an article entitled "Were our ancient ancestors scientifically advanced?", I was shocked by the cartoon appended to his article. A brahmin in traditional attire carries a vessel labelled Ganga Jal and says in confusion “My son calls it simply H2O” . The implication is the father is orthodox, stupid and unscientific and the son “scientifically advanced”. But the fact obvious is father’s description is accurate and the boy has just remembered the chemical formula and repeated it as a parrot. If he does a chemical analysis, he would have found a lot more. He blames Sanskrit language for our backwardness and says it is due to weakness of Sanskrit language in which words have many meanings.
I am ashamed of the ignorance and stupidity of our eminent scientists. Judge yourself

Science and religion are not two independent inventions or discoveries of man. It is man's curiosity to understand the creation, nature, the truth and the force behind creation of this universe. All religions are not the same. Each religion employed a certain type of logic. While some religions made religion a closed set of dogmas and beliefs they become antagonistic to the science. Some religions display an inherent openness to accept scientific reasoning. Such religions should be adopted by the wise. The unwise may be lured into dogmatic faiths and belief systems. Science itself cannot become a religion nor it can replace it.

Vijayalakshmi Mandalaparthy There was never any dichotomy between Science and Religion in our history. We called everything some "Shastram". All our "scientists" were also rishis. These were truths which were discovered in the search for real truth and hence don't change with each passing year like how western science does. It seems incredible that the Catholic church went on insisting till 1992 that the earth was flat, whereas we always said "Bhoogolam" meaning sphere.

శాస్త్రజ్ఞుల అభిప్రాయాలు నిర్ధారణలు ఎప్పుడూ అర్ధ సత్యాలే. చరిత్రకారుల ఊహలు అంతే. అప్పటికి అందుబాటులో ఉన్న సాక్ష్యం ఆధారంగా, వారి దృష్టికోణాలకు అనుగుణంగా ఉంటాయి. ఉదాహరణకు మన దేశ చరిత్ర లో తేదీలను అసలు నమ్మరాదు. వారుచెప్పే వేదకాలం, పురాణ ఇతిహాసాల కాలం అన్నీ తప్పులే. స్వాతంత్ర్యము వచ్చాక విడేశీయుల వక్ర దృష్టి, మన వామపక్ష చరిత్రకారులచేతిలో పడి మనపుస్తకాలు ప్రామాణికతను పూర్తిగా కోల్పోయాయి.
