Ahimsa is one of the 4 pillars of our dharma. Isn't it?

Sumalini Soma Gandhi - didn't he use 3 major pillars of Dharma as part of his philosophy? Satyam, Ahimsa, Shouchamu?

VVS Sarma
What is dharma? It is an extremely complex term of our Sanathana dharma, which is untranslatable. See these sentences --- Dharma means differently, denotes a different thing each time.
1. Ahimsa Paramo dharma ; Dharmam Saranam Gacchaami
2. Dharmo rakshati rakshita –
3. yada yada hi dharmasya glanir bhavati bharata| abhyutthanam adharmasya tadatmanam srjamyaham - says Krishna in Gita
4. Swadharme nidhanam shreyah paradharmo bhayaavahah. – Gita
5. Ramo vigrahavan dharma
# 1 is true only for sanyasis and householders in ordinary situation.
# 2, #4 mean to each one his own swa dharma – king’ dharma for king, soldier’s dharma for a soldier
# 3 means most people in the society are deviating from dharma and an avatara appears only when there is an intense prayer from the concerned. God has no sva-dharma to take suo moto action to appear on earth.
#5 Dharma is subtle. There are conflicts among various dharmas. Rama took his raja dharma as supreme and considered dharma to his wife as a lower level dharma which can be comprised.
Gandhi is not a dharmacharya His notions of satya, satyagraha, swarajya, his notion of “Iswar-Allah tere nam” are all faulty. He is an honest political leader but his dharma-adharma discrimination is faulty. In fact, he is failed political leader on many counts.

Acharya Sadananda Dharma for simplicity for transactions can be stated as follows. Do what I expect others do towards me and do not do what I expect other not to do towards me. For example, I expect others not to steel my property, not to lie to me, not to hurt me any way - therefore it becomes my dharma not to do those to others. I expect others to be compassionate towards me, help me when I am in need, forgive my mistakes, etc. Therefore it is my dharma to do the same for others - these become universal values. Himsa is hurting others for selfish reason. ahihma follows from the universal values. Fighting to protect the child or needy or the nation or ones dharma stated above is not himsa. Hence Krishana advises Arjuna to fight to protect the dharma. Krishna himself did not space anyone who is hurting others. Ultimately dharma of anything is that because of which it is - Mathematically - it is the necessary and sufficient qualification of any object or entity. I am what I am because the very core of my personality which is nothing but I am. That self that I am and its recognition is my essence - and that is where Lord also says He resides - I reside in everyone's heart - heart is the heart or essence of myself. Recognition o re-cognition of myself becomes my essential dharma - which is actually santaatana dharma. Religion that points to this fact is also sananatana dharma or later called Hinduism. Hari Om!
