Why God who is merciful and compassionate create the evil in the world? Is it logical? From where did this component of evil come in?
Vvs Sarma Hinduism alone among all world religions explains this logically.Vvs Sarma That is explained by Guruji many times and is the topic of Puranas about Creation. I shall post something brief on it.Vijayalakshmi Mandalaparthy Evil was created as a punishment when good people transgressed! Don't say this explanation is wrong... I got it from roughly the same source!Gopala Krishnam Raju Santana Dharma is the answer. If we think only 'one' then there is no 'two'. Good/bad, light/dark, haven/hell, good thought/bad thought... So on ! So many theories/philosophies!!! But truth is our dharma - "SANATANA DHARMA". SGSN namaha !!!
Why God, who is merciful and compassionate, created the world which is full of evil and other opposite traits?
Section 1 – Story of Creation
Both the single premise and the conclusion are wrong. God can also be terrible and world can also display good features. To explain this, the story of creation is to be recalled. Brahman is Sat-chit-ananda svarupa. It has no attributes. It is nirakara, nirvikara, niranjana. It is one, it has no second. It is not the creator when it is static. If there is some impulse, a samkalpa for creation, one becomes two. Purusha and Prakriti or Kameswara and Kameswari with kama of creation, static and dynamic. Prakriti is called Sakti or Maaya. When the creation impulse is materialized, it is Maha Vishnu tattva with a name and form with full awareness of Brahman and the Sakti, called Vishnu Maaya or Yoga Maaya. From him to materialize his conception the Trimurty – Vishnu is his quarter amsa, Brahma created by him, and Rudra from Brahma. It is this trinity that is our realization of “God in heaven” of other religions. Rudra can be both benevolent (siva, aghora) and terrible (ghora) – Veda says – aghorebhyo, ‘tha ghorebyo ghora, ghoratarebhya – Benevolence for srishti and sthiti and what appears ghora to us in laya and vilaya; Siva doing Ananda Tandava and Vilaya Tandava.

Section 2 Story of Creation
Maha Vishnu is time (aham kalosmi); he created Brahmandas and one such Brahmanda with 14 worlds is for us, with seven higher worlds and seven lower worlds (Satya loka to Patala) with suns stars, planets, galaxies etc with (bhuloka) being the seventh. Brahma came from him with his own time scale and started creation of beings starting with his own location Satya loka. He first created his manasa putras and maharshis from his mind. They were not interested in procreating other beings. Then Brahma realized that a self-perpetuating world cannot be created from mind. You need lot of other things. 25 tattvas, dualities, sexes, qualities (gunas), vikaras, mind, intellect, egos etc. He created manus, prajapatis and wives for them like Satarupa for Svayambhuva manu. By the time he came to Vaivasvata Manvantara creation of beings and objects – animate and inanimate - on earth started.
Today’s creation (prati sarga) is of existing jivas withdrawn into Vishnu at the time of dissolution with bodies and minds. Jivas also evolve from animal kingdom. If we look at many humans today you see tigers, wolves, jackals, scorpions, snakes lurking in them behind the human façade. Of course, there are mahatmas, incarnations, sadgurus, to balance the evil forces. God is the cause and world is the result and there is no need to have any commonality between them. Water may be separated into Hydrogen and oxygen, which are totally dissimilar to water.
