Krishna Mohan Mocherla spoke with Nathan Jurgenson, a ‘net theorist. He pointed out that there's a lot of "reality" in the virtual, and a lot of "virtual" in our reality. When we use a phone or a computer we're still flesh-and-blood humans, occupying time and space. When we're frolicking through a field somewhere, our gadgets stowed far away, the internet still impacts our thinking: "Will I tweet about this when I get back?"
Absolutely true! That is the problem. These gadgets are increasing the bondage of an individual in the real world, depriving him of his solitude. The great Sankara says
Satsangatve Nissangatvam, Nissangatve Nirmohatvam
Nirmohatve Nishchala tattvam, Nishcalatattve Jiivanmuktih
From satsanga, comes non-attachment; from non-attachment comes freedom from delusion, which leads to self-control. From self-control comes Jivan Mukti (liberation).
Krishna Mohan Mocherla Very true Vvs Sarma garu... actually I haven't spoke with Nathan Jurgenson... it was a guy who abandoned internet in his life for a whole year. I totally agree with you ... Gadgets make us more attached to worldly things more... when we don't have those gadgets life is a bit easy. Unfortunately in this modern day world, human is bound to have earn lively-hood for which he is bound to have these gadgets becoming more bonded. Thank you very much for your valuable explanation.
